Heyheyhey CBee, you got it in one! Very slick. I didn't even have to mention the very scenic nuclear power station just around the corner from this Tori (true!). Over to you CBee.

...8 Euros for a bottle of water in that hut and no cooking allowed.
They seem to have lost the spirit of adventure to appease the masses.

You are not forced to use any of the huts. You can bring your own gear and dig a proper base camp on the glacier.

Aiguille de Saussure does not reach 4000m quite. But you are very close, maybe less than 1 km.

In that range there is Mont Blanc du Tacul [4248]. If de Saussure was the 3839 point, I cannot see a name on the 4028 point.

Well done cbee.
That kind of climbing is beyond my scope, particularly at my age.

This was from a flat walk in Switzerland.

These translated names - huh.
Anyway - I had it as Staubbach Falls - about 300m high.
Did not have time to go along the track working its way behind the falls.

Yes in fact it’s 4 or 5 miles east of that. We had not long left Greenhead heading along the Pennine Way.
