Your brain had some idea. It just needs to wander in the opposite direction. Depot Gorge is closer than Napperby.

Edeowie Gorge - how far up did you go?

Yes, Edeowie Gorge, at its outlet onto the plain. In the western range of Wilpena Pound.

I did not progress a long way up. I'm a bushwalker, not a climber. I'm reminded of your excellent report and photographs posted on this forum, documenting an Edeowie Gorge walk from inside the Pound, descending cliff faces that would scare me.

There were some scary bits, but I only remember one small wall which was a bit tough.
I got below the bottom waterfall - but have not continued to the outlet.

Staying in SA - my view of an area I would like to explore.

This is a guess, because I don't recognise any details, but could you be referring to the Freeling Heights?

I can understand why you'd like to explore that area. Me too. Reading Bonython adds to the allure.

Next image is also in SA. Name the range on the horizon. Perhaps you could also add the name the creek I was walking along?

This is not far from the location of my previous photograph. But it's not Wilpena Pound.

Elder Range is correct, so over to you.

It's actually Bunbinyunna Creek (near Black Gap), and the creek here is the route of the Heysen Trail.

Thanks, looking at the map I thought it may be the Elder Range, and having seen other photos of it.
Started with the nearest major creek as a complete guess. Should have thought to look at a Heysen map given the volume of eggs' photos from along it.

NSW, what am I on? Bonus points for features in view:

Looks like Watsons Crags from the circuit track or maybe the way out to The Sentinel.

Will I be generous twice today? OK I'm feeling benevolent. Close enough, it is Watsons Crags but I'm at the trig on The Sentinel.
More awkward to get to, but that thing is lower than everything around it. Yours again NNW.

Staying in Dubberland. Don't think I've posted this one before. Gets kind of hard to remember with the mainland stuff ...

I think you're looking at the Pilot, but no idea where from. Looks too open to be bob's ridge, purgatory hill etc, could be somewhere on the ramsheads but there'd be a few more ridges in the middle ground?

Should have looked at the enlarged image earlier. My own photos suggest that you're in the Rams Heads.
But you've deftly hidden all the nunataks :). It's not far enough down the hill for South Rams Head.
I think I recall some open ground like that near "The Southerly Rams Head".

To cut this a bit shorter, one of the places named in your first answer is correct, but not any of the ones you think it is.

The falls are on a side-creek where it joins with a larger creek where there are more falls. The junction is just below/out-of-shot (and there are a couple of lesser falls there too).

It might help if you narrow it down to a region of NSW.

I've been trying to mentally narrow it down based on the rock (it looks like quartzite to me) but there's a lot of that in NSW.
