I do believe that is correct John.

You saved me posting a picture of the "Start of the Coast to Coast walk" sign at St Bees!!! i'll save that for a day I'm feeling generous.

Take it away John

The man quoted in my signature block had a lot to do with this locality.

Not the Hiwassee River, a very long way from there Greg. I didn't realise my clue could send you to that part of the world.
Interestingly there are two significant John Muir Trails in the US lower 48, that one in Tennessee and a much longer one one here.

You're in the right NP but I'm not at a remote spot. I'm probably around 15-20 km south of there.
This river is the primary watercourse running through this valley.

But John, I'm busy. Hence I have so far resisted your clues to name the Merced River as the obvious answer.

But sadly now you've left me no choice. Hope your happy now.

Thanks for playing Greg. I thought you were in lockdown like the rest of us plebs?
It is indeed the Merced River in Yosemite Valley. Now you will have to find a photo :).

Mr Buck is again a winner. Despite, I suspect, a deliberate spelling error.

Indeed the mid river Bamberg Rat Haus. ( Town Hall to you Englanders!)

Please take the floor Herr Buck

This one's in the UK. These stepping stones are huge - several cubic metres each.

You have to admit that we showed a fair amount of respect to Ribuck to allow him a couple of days to sort out his uploading issues. Well done team "International"

My wild *&%$#! guess is The Giants stepping stones across Afon Braint and swan, Newborough, Anglesey, Wales.

Thanks, I was very surprised to find the game still open.

GregR wrote:My wild *&%$#! guess is The Giants stepping stones across Afon Braint and swan

Yes GregR, it's the stepping stones across Afon Braint in Anglesey. The locals call the spot Gatehouses Ford. I don't see any swan in the photo though.

Today I finished my walk around Anglesey, which has taken 12 days. This is part of my long-term project to walk the whole English/Welsh coastline. I've done about one-third of it so far (but I did start in 1993!).

well based on having completed 1/3rd since '93, you need only another 100 or so years to complete it. Good luck! Hint: try walking just a wee bit faster and more often. Considering the current Covid lockdowns here in Melbourne I'd be happy just to walk to the next suburb!

However putting all that aside and wanting to speed up the game, I have decided to put up the hardest ever picture that will have you totally stumped. nobody will be able to get this one, so a few hints to start off with.
1. its in Britain.
2. It rhymes with Faint Knees
3. it'll be on Ribucks coastal trail if it hasn't already been on it.
4. there isn't a 4th clue. I just pushed return by mistake, and as I'm currently in Prison and bored I left it there.

Good luck everyone, I know it's a toughie but someone will eventually get this one.

That's a tough one, GregR. It certainly doesn't rhyme with Faint Breeze, judging by how strong the wind was when I was there in 2001.

it rhymes with Faint Knees Ribuck, not faint Breeze. No wonder you think it's a toughie.

I'm happy to provide more clues if it will help.

Such as, there s a dead Knight under the car park in the nearby Church.

Keep guessing folks.
