Thank you though I don’t think my very general guess warrants me taking a turn.
However I will.
Where in UK is this and what is it’s significance?

Strange, I tried googling the Pennine Way when I first saw this, and got nothing. But now I'm finding the Tan Hill Inn.

Yes, it’s Tan Hill Inn, the highest inn in Britain. We enjoyed a nice breakfast of scones, jam and cream, and tea after walking from Keld. Unfortunately we hadn’t booked so couldn’t have the cooked breakfast.

Yes, thankyou for posting, and apologies for the late reply - I was away for several days on a canyoning trip!

It was in fact just before the high point of the routeburn!

Always enjoy a cooked breakfast, but not so great for the waistline.

Canada, what am I about to ascend then attempt to walk to the summit, until the weather decided otherwise 3/4 way to the top.

Correct Sandy. By the time we got up there on the tramway the summit trail was so clagged in I could barely see where I was going. Over to you.

Yep, spot on SandyM, it is indeed a papier mache replica of the Matterhorn. I tackled this big guy in summer of '16, we set up base camp in Fantasyland and despite serious preparation the ascent itself was not without its dramas. Ran out of ice cream and M&Ms part way up, utterly exhausted and snow blind, some nembers of the expedition suffered seriously from ennui, if it weren't for the express elevator I probably wouldn't have made it.
Over to you Sandy.

Duh! I've been there but didn't recognise that angle, even though we drove in that way and I have almost the same shot .

I guess that's too obscure.

Hint:
It's in the California Sierra and has a name that is nearly the same as a famous (and much more dramatic looking) mountain.
