I feel guilty as you have given so many clues but Matterhorn Peak.

Weird how many Matterhorns there are in the world. I hiked up Matterhorn Mountain (or peak, can't remember) once in Oregon and it was strikingly un-Matterhorn like.

Funny, 'cos I was thinking that really does not look like the alps.

Don't feel guilty. It's a tricky balancing act comping up with a photo that isn't either too easy or impossible. I'm not very good at it.

May as well stay in California. Just the name of the National Park, bonus points for the tree. Should be easy.

That'll be Joshua Tree National Park, and for the bonus points it's a small Joshua Tree.

Here is what the nearby summit cairn looks like:

...and this scene is not far from the bottom of the mountain (although usually it's wheelchair-navigable rather than full of windblown trees):

Right state but not the island of Honolulu (Oahu).
We only had a really short flight here from HNL though.

Right island but I'm a long way SE of the Hanalei area. I'm on a named peak looking north towards another named mountain with a very distinctive profile.

646 views and only one responder. I've virtually given away the answer in the clues.
As a final clue, I've posted both these peaks in the game previously.
Does anyone want to have a guess before I just give the answer and hand it on?

First of all John I would like to thank you for your outstanding forbearance :) I can't speak for the other 600+ people who viewed your picture but for my part I have held back because I have run out of "international" pictures haha ( blame covid, everyone else does) and therefore dont want to risk being the winner because I don't have anything to post next - very frustrating... so nothing related to the subtlety of your clues which were excellent. So ... you were on Kauai, looking towards Kalalea, from the location of Bohemoth which was filmed in Cornwall ???? - can't be right!

Greg, Thank you for playing, yes you have it around 60% correct. Please post next if you manage to find another photo, otherwise anyone can go.
On Kauai, I am on the Sleeping Giant (clue=slumbering behemoth) looking north towards Kalalea Mountain/King Kong's Profile (clue=sovereign primate) on the Anahola Range.
Hollywood film setting for the King Kong sequel and other movies such as Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Six Days, Seven Nights and Tropic Thunder.
