This one is in Asia. And yes, the sign says it all! A bit of quick detective work is all that is required, or perhaps you already know this spot.

I think that says 2701 metres at the bottom of the pole. The closest I can get to that is Mt Haku at 2702.2 metres. Is that it?

You are on the right island Graham and you are also right about the elevation being 2701 metres but to find this particular peak you need to move more in an Easterly direction.

This peak is part of a 7.7km ridge line trail that reaches an elevation of 2909m.

Doppyo Peak (2701 m) of Mt. Nishi-Hotaka-dake? I could only find once reference to this as a 2701 metre peak online.
So I assume it's a sub peak? There are no main peaks listed at that height, well that I could find at least.

You are correct John, it is indeed Nishiho Doppyo peak or whatever - it is called a peak on this route anyway. (Credit to you Dr Frank for supplying this pic) . The less fit/ambitious walker can call it a day at this point and head back down the mountain rather than pressing on to the 2909m high point of Nishihotakedake.
I hope to be over there later this year, depending on covid and air fares!
Over to you John.

Thanks Greg. We have a 21 yo nephew heading to Japan in a few months if he gets his finances sorted out :).

Next, I know exactly where this is but I can't name any features.
So just guess the name of this main island of an island nation.
Bonus point for any extra correct information. South Pacific:

I have only a narrow experience of South Pacific islands so starting from that flimsy base I would say it could be Viti Levu.

Next up we have a pair of trampers somewhere in NZ. Despite appearances this location is out in the wilds - there is a good clue in the background.

It seems some clues are needed:

1. You can walk from this Kiwi to New Zealand in ten hours without getting your feet wet.

2. This artwork was for many years maintained by a Polish company.

3. The nearby village includes an Auckland Street, Wellington Street and Nelson Street.

Oh, did I mention that this kiwi is located in Europe? However, it's not associated with the suburb of New Zealand in Derby, UK.

Anyway, here's how you walk from the Kiwi to New Zealand in ten hours, keeping your feet dry. Hope this helps:

I eventually found "New Zealand is a hamlet in the civil parish of Hilmarton in Wiltshire, England. Nearby villages are Goatacre, Hilmarton and Lyneham; the nearest town is Calne, approximately 4 miles to the southwest." Is that the one? I couldn't find the kiwi sign though.

I guess I shoul have made the P lower-case, but I just copy-pasted from "Kiwi Shoe Polish Company".

Well done Tyreless for locating the kiwi, and also a shoutout to johnw for Identifying the correct New Zealand.
