Thanks photohiker, the generous clue made it easy

. I'm at work without photos right now. If someone wants to post they can, maybe eggs as his answer was pretty close, otherwise I'll put one up when I get home.

Since the onsite council bill board and the online Topo map calls this the Queenstown Hill Walkway, I will accept.
The article I saw noted that there were 2 possible names for it.
But in the spirit of that last entry - what is this in NZ?

- The Oxenbridge Tunnel on the Shotover River at Queenstown, built as an attempt to divert the river to explore for gold.

outlet of the tunnel on the shotover river
Mon 12 Jan, 2015 4:08 pm
It is on the Shotover River - not far from the last post.
There is a short walk up and over this tunnel to see the river each side.
It is called the Oxenbridge Tunnel.

no
Tue 13 Jan, 2015 6:26 pm
I don't see any glaciers

. Is it on the north island?
Tue 13 Jan, 2015 6:51 pm
That's why I guessed Whanganui. No snow and still water..

there are other clues in that photo that narrow down where in NZ is is. this is a photo of "typical terrain and bush" for the area, thats why i chose it. i can walk for weeks in the south island without sign of a glacier,
