To get things moving here's something really easy from QLD:

Kuranda Station is correct crollsurf. I think historically there was once also a Stoney Creek station halfway back down the line, but no longer.
But the train still passes right beside Stoney Creek Falls on the way up the mountain, one of the highlights of the trip.

Thanks johnw, only have a few photos from up that way that I've already used in the Where-is-it comp so back to NSW.
This will be hard so a couple of hints, in Sydney suburbia and the falls start with the letter G
UPDATE: The falls on most maps begin with a D and has the same name as the Reserve the falls are in.

Dundundra Falls, Dundundra Falls Reserve, NSW

Yes this one is tough. I can't recall or find a "G" waterfall around Sydney, but on Gore Creek in the Lane Cove area there is a "Lilli Pilli Falls" which looks kinda similar.

It does look like it but it's not. Its north of Lilli Pilli Falls but there is a twist now. When I looked it up on six maps, the falls have the same name as the reserve!!! So the falls, on six maps at least, begin with a D. In fact OSM has the falls and the Reserve as a different name but also begins with D.

To add to the confusion, when I look up SIX Maps the falls are in Dardabong Reserve. No mention of Dundundra Reserve that I could see.
But the web site I found for Dundundra Falls states that they are in Dundundra Reserve :?.

Six maps has it as the Dundundra Falls in the Dundundra Falls Reserve. I just went up and had a look and the current signage reflects that. OSM has it as the Dardabong Falls in the Gundundra Falls Reserve. I distinctly remember seeing signage a while ago calling it Gundundra Falls and other signage for Dundundra Falls Reserve. Not overly curious about the history, it could be as simple as someones poor handwriting.

All yours jonnosan.

Six maps says it is in the Dundundra Falls Reserve but I can see the confusion because six shows no distinction between the 2 reserves and the label for Dundundra is right next to the label for the falls. So for all intents, it looks on six that the whole area is Dardabong Reserve.
OSM does show the separation of the 2 reserves but calls Dundundra Gundundra.

Thanks crollsurf

Like a lot of folks, I am running short of interesting new photos, so hope folks don't mind me posting something a little different....

I am looking for the name of either the location or the person described in this old newspaper story.

No, this is not Dr Dark's cave. I have a hunch though that Dr Dark may have been the doctor that knew of the easier entrance in the story above.

Frank Walford is the man in the photo. The cave is out near Arethusa Canyon.

Ah, my confusion resolved. I always look at the topo layer of SIX Maps which (in this case) doesn't show the Dundundra Reserve label.
I usually avoid the default view as I've found it sometimes omits walking tracks and other features.

Not as far north as Carrai.

I took the photo from a named feature that is very prominent, but not in the same park.

We have a winner!

Yes it's Towarri National Park. That escarpment isn't named on the topo map, but it towers over Dry Creek. My photo is looking west from near the trig point on Wingen Maid.

Full disclosure... never been there, and never heard of it until I did a bit of a google map search. Feel bad, don't like answering on places I haven't been to :( ...

OK now I'm over it  . Where is this in the ACT?
