:) ... near enough Mark. Certainly I'm on the Tyndall Range (not far from the startling Lake Huntly - see attached). Your turn,

cheers

Eggs probably deserves it, but if he wanted it he would have said :p
It does look an amazing range. Have a few West coast trips planned now I've crossed the NE zone off :)

Ok where was this poser standing?

I reckon she (a cutey) is on the saddle on the way to Hartz Peak - the range at the back is Picton & the south Pictons
- love how you get cloud to bock out the main features

Haha yes your correct on one thing Eggs. :) Hartz Pass is right.
I usually look for a picture that has a bit of cloud or something covering an otherwise obvious feature.

But yes, she is a he. dont worry though he gets it ALOT. It's the long hair and big eyes. Takes after his mother with his pretty features.

Not Rogoona or Barns :)

Edit - Both peaks are well known - but the one on the right should be more easily recognised
This is a telephoto shot - and there are some very pretty lakes nestled in the ridgeline ahead.

That looks like Cathedral on the left, and Pelion East on the right. If so, are you on or near the Arm River Track?

cheers

ooops - just read your other clue. I might amend that to the February Plains area, not far from Oakleigh.

You have the peaks correct.

I am further north (zoom) - the very round "peak" rising out of the picture on the right should assist locating me.

Is that Mt Emmett (a huge pile of rocks, and not a peak, as you rightly say)? And so are Lakes Ellen, Andrews and McRae the ones beyond?

It is Emmett - but the lakes I am referring to are closer to me - not beyond Emmett.

Don't get twisted up about the lakes - just where am I will do.
PS - I asked about your Tyndalls walk - did you enter/exit via the ridge over Rolleston? You appeared to be going some way towards it?

Okay - my final bid - Twisted Tarn (and Lks Rodway and Hidden).

Re. the Tyndalls, we went in from the Henty-Anthony Rd and out via Lake Margaret. We did wander widely, but not as far as Rolleston.

My turn yet??

I will give it to you for all that hard effort - yes Twisted Lakes are just ahead of us - but the answer to where I was is Hanson's Peak

Edit - Twisted Tarn appears to be in Mt Field NP ???

Okay - an obscure hint first (for readers of the Bible). Think "the head of John the Baptist".

So that's Herod's Gate on the left in walls of Jerusalem?

So taken from Lake Salome?

Phil's got it. It's West Wall and Solomons Throne reflected in Lake Salome. The "John the Baptist" hint refers to Salome's demand that King Herod cut off John the Baptist's head.

Small point: in this photo we're looking towards Damascus Gate rather than Herods Gate.

Over to you Phil,

cheers

I don't think I've used this one before, shouldn't be too hard!!

For all you confused lovers of the Walls please note that that was not the Western Wall and Solomon's throne.
It is in fact the side of Mt Ophel looking from across Lake Salome

PS - a very beautiful photo though

That was my original thoughts Eggs.

  .... oh dear! Can't even remember my own photos!! Yes, come to think of it, it was an early morning shot, so I was looking northish (with a bit of east) towards Mt Ophel. That's why the mountain was still in shade (like my memory!)

At least it WAS Lake Salome 8)

cheers
