Ha! But yes, maybe we should move on and someone post another one.
Last hasn't visited the site since the 20th so may be off doing other things.
We can always revisit this one later.

It felt a bit like that looking over it . Still a good 300 or 400 m to the bottom.
Although the name of this place has more to do with horizontal than vertical.

sandym wrote:Yaki Point?

Not Yaki Point. I've descended into the inner canyon about 900m vertical and probably around 9 km distance from the rim.

Two very different answers a fair distance apart.
One of them is partly correct but I'm not looking for the name of a trail.
The much visited feature I'm both on and looking at has a specific name. Some good clues in my previous post.
Clicking my photo twice to fully zoom in will give more detail, which may or may not help.

Plateau Point. I'm surprised by how undeveloped the trail appears though.

Correct ribuck. The engineering on Bright Angel Trail becomes more rudimentary on the horizontal plateau once past Indian Gardens.

Hunstanton Beach Cliffs, Norfolk.
Carrstone, chalk (limestone) and some iron oxide I'm led to believe.
