Did the fruit clue help?

I figured it had to be a clue because you don't make those sorts of spelling errors. But otherwise it was no help at all.

Thank you NNW, I think you and I are of the few who still appreciate good spelling and grammar.
I've been known to historically correct my own posts through feeling guilty at having made an error, and a bit of OCD.
I wasn't sure how many would get the "Bartlett" pear clue, but threw it in anyway.

I note from Wikipedia- The Williams' bon chrétien pear, commonly called the Williams pear, or the Bartlett pear in the
United States and Canada, is the most commonly grown variety of pear in most countries outside Asia.

Woolies have their own take on it with "William Bartlett Pear".

Is it near Waitomo Caves?

PS. Near Waitomo Caves is the Waingaro Hot Springs Hotel. For a giggle have a read through some of the older reviews - a bit like Fawlty Towers.

Yes, No guide though (I've been caving since I was about 6) .

I've only ever heard of it called the Williams Pear (Though usually in German, and in reference to a certain warming drink)

Both answers have merit. I'm looking in the general direction of both the Shotover and Bowen Peak, with The Remarkables behind me.
Although this is not "Where Am I" I'll give it to Greg as I'm on Queenstown Hill rather than the Ben Lomond track.
I should note that there is a lot of zoom and only a part of Bowen Peak occupies the LHS of the image.

That means the "Nord" was a hint!

Deciding to avoid a long tunnel found me walking past this pretty building in France. Where is it?

Unfortunately it went over my head, I just googled French lighthouses. Giving my age away, I don't think the tunnel had even been planned when I visited France :).
I did realise why I couldn't remember the lighthouse. We were all sick as dogs below deck on a very rough channel ferry crossing from Dover to Calais .
