Closes yet. I'm not in the upper rees, but I did cross the Rees River in order to climb that mountain in the photo!

pick a spur the edge of an nz glacier or neve that terminates on tussock and name it.... theres no more than a thousand or so....

Are you looking at mt earnslaw, north of the of kea basin, walking up the route to esquilant bivy?

Bit of a guess, when I was up there earnslaw was hidden by cloud so I never saw what the summit looks like.

I did have to cross the rees to get there though.
