Cannot find the houses, but if that is a lighthouse on Husey, then you are probably near Akrakirkja

Only because I found a coastal view with farms in it - somewhere near Akrafjall, Akranes?

Would not have got it without the clues and good work by others.

Not Bear Lake. Right idea, different animal but not named for the lake/s.
You're in the frame on the correct train route. Go about 35 km north.

Closer, you're about 10 km away. This small settlement is named after a large endemic animal.
The lakes have a different name and are connected to Kenai Lake.

Moose Creek? Trail Lake? The large endemic animal has to be a moose, I think. Although it could be a bison, but moose are much more common.

Good enough. Moose Pass village on the middle/upper Trail Lake. Over to you.

Sorry, just busy.

As it is ski season, I'll post a picture from skiing in the USA. Name of the pass and bonus points for the valley behind the pass. The valley is very well known as is the pass.

Let's start somewhere. No idea of the view because it was a whiteout when I stopped there briefly - Loveland Pass?

Wrong state, go west. John Muir called the range "The Range Of Light."

The Range of Light is Yosemite so is this Tioga Pass looking to Yosemite Valley?

The right range, wrong pass. You cannot drive to this pass, must walk or ski.

My knowledge is limited to Yosemite Valley. Thinking about "well known" in a different context - Matterhorn Pass?

So it's actually nowhere near Yosemite :? ? [/Tosses Yosemite Wilderness map aside]
Albeit I know the trail of the same name connects there because I walked on it briefly -
John Muir Memorial Shelter aka Muir Hut, at Muir Pass, Kings Canyon NP.

Photo is from the summit of Black Giant, looking down on Muir Pass with the Evoloution Valley behind. It is the Sierra Nevada range, from north of Yosemite to south of where we finished this traverse. The only other person we met in 8 days was skiing north to Tioga Pass as we were skiing south towards Mount Whitney.
