Thanks, a 4 or 5 km radius is an extremely generous margin! I walked eastward along Hadrians Wall about that distance and more or less accidentally went into Bird Oswald fort through the back door so to speak without paying the five quid entry fee, which was embarrassing when I finally realised what I had done.

Still in the UK, plenty of hints in the background.

Yes John, on the grounds of Thornton Abbey in Lincolnshire, I think the pictured ruin was part of the Chapter House. Over to you.

Thanks Greg. I haven't been there, we bypassed and headed further north many years ago, but that last clue was a great help.
