Byron Gap

Correct weetbix

Sweet! Amazing that angle manages to bypass so many prominent features out the back there.

Frenchmans Cap?
Mon 20 Jul, 2020 8:05 pm
Not from Frenchman’s...but in the right area
Tue 21 Jul, 2020 4:02 pm
This is the reverse of my last pic. As the Byron saddle is barely visible past the Cheyne Range you must be east of Frenchmans. Agamemnon?
Tue 21 Jul, 2020 6:17 pm
That’s the one. Just beside Agamemnon summit on sunrise. Beautiful morning.

Thanks Weetbix. Next. Where am I on a lovely day?

Heemskirk? (Not the summit.)
Tue 21 Jul, 2020 9:23 pm
Correct Tortoise. Had to go back a week later to find the other trig cairn and the summit.

The friends I was with weren't so interested in the summit, so it still awaits me! Anyone can go next.

That seems to be standard conditions for Heemskirk. Has anyone ever lucked out and had good weather all the way up and back?
Since you asked so nicely. Fill in the blanked out bits of the sign.
So, 1MB only now? Going to make for far lower quality.

I had perfect conditions on my second visit, had to wait around for it though.

Westrope Road turnoff? So the sign might say:
Lady Lake Hut
Syds Track
Ironstone Mountain
Forty Lakes Peak
Pretty sure I'm wrong, but I'll go for it anyway.

One word of that is correct. Another word is almost correct. The words in question are even on the correct lines. Also, you aren't too monstrously far from the spot.

Parsons Track, Hills logging hut 2.5 hrs, Haberles hut 5 hrs, Plateau & Sandstone rock 7 hrs, Lake McKenzie 10 hrs.

Close enough. The third line is actually Parsons Spring & Plateau. That sandstone rock, however, is impressive and far more worthy of signage than the so-called spring which seems to be nothing more than a small puddle under a rock smothered in scrub.

Blue Peaks?
Wed 22 Jul, 2020 4:20 pm
Correct I am on the Northern peak looking at the Southern.

Thanks teak. If things ever return to normal I'd like to see more of the Central Plateau.
Where am I being tempted by this roaring bubble bath?

Sure is, fairly pumping at the time.

Yet to visit the falls, so it was a bit of a guess.

Rocky Cape in general is nice. Not so much for peakbaggers.
Probably way off but this reminds me of Collins Cap.
Fri 24 Jul, 2020 11:01 pm
A fair way off from Collins Cap I'm afraid.

Looks more like one of the NE lumps, maybe Young.

Or Albert? Can't remember what was in the mist at the top.
