I haven't been to the south side of Forty Lakes Peak, but I suppose the map looks like it could fit the picture.

(I'm just guessing after adding the "Survey Control" layer to LIST Map, and seeing what's near Lake Nameless - from your clues. The only points nearby are Forty Lakes Peak and Ironstone Mtn.)

Last wrote:the only trig I can see on "thelist" on an unnamed peak is the one just NE of Lake MacKenzie, but that doesn't seem to match the rest of the clues.....

Sorry, I seem to have led the party too far astray. For the clue hinting at Lake Nameless, I should have said that it's much, much further along from here.
Nik's original guess of Lake Balmoral was very close, about 2 km away. I can't be 100% certain it is a trig, but definitely looks like a triangular frame topped with a disc, in my original photos.
Also this was taken in 2008, so if it is a trig, maybe no longer there? There is a bit of zoom involved, so I'm assuming the high point is about 800m from me.
In which case it does sit on/near a named feature, but not a peak. Finally, this is a fairly popular spot.

Lady Lake and Nells Bluff? (I don't remember seeing a trig point there.)

the trigs haven't moved in the last 13 years (they aren't maintained) and the list maps are probably older than that anyway. If this is Lady lake the trig i mentioned earlier is about 4 km away and would probably be visible with some zoom. That is the only marked trig for some distance.

Yes, Lady Lake. In that case maybe I'm not facing in the direction I thought, it was a while ago. These days I'm lucky to remember what happened yesterday.
So maybe it is the one NE of Lake MacKenzie, although I doubt my camera then would have had that much telephoto capability. Could also be a mirage of sorts I guess.
Anyway Nik has the first, neatest, correct entry :).

I'm guessing this is more remote but that approach reminds me of the Junee Cave.

This location is not remote (and is also not the Junee Cave). But it is a cave. You can drive the car almost right to one of the many entrances to this cave.

I used to explore this cave system a lot when I was younger, and took my kids there for the first time a few weeks ago. This time I came back with bruises all over my fore-arms from squirming through one long thin tunnel. That didn't used to be a problem last time (~30 years ago).

These caves were (relatively) recently included in a new(ish) National Park.

I thought this one would be easy. But maybe it's less well known than I thought.

Another of the many entrances to this cave is a massive sink-hole that you can abseil into (after a short walk up the hill from the more common entrances).

Hint: It's coincidental that you have to drive past the most well-known shop in Chudleigh on the way to this cave.

It’s Ben 22 hours and I know I’m right so I’ll post the next picture. I climbed this mountain on Monday. What is it?

That was quick. We had a lovely family three days at the Scout Hut to celebrate my birthday and four of us climbed Cradle Mountain while the younger ones went back to the hut from Marions Lookout.

Sounds wonderful Graham, and happy birthday!
I've only climbed it once but walked under and past it numerous times since.

Bit of zoom here Tortoise. I did pick this shot after reading of your upcoming adventure :).
Not Picton. This is possibly somewhat easier to access but I imagine Picton could have a similar view.

Yes Graham, just came down from Snowy. I'm on the saddle, that's Hartz rising on my right.

No, I think he's further south, looking over Pine Forest Moor, quite possibly from the slopes of a famous Abel.

Right, this thing is close to a named landmark, even if you can't see it.
