Yes - it was Gould's Sugarloaf.
My go-to Zoom lens is 55 to 300mm - this was at 300mm

But the big question is what approach do you take to climbing Carina Peak?
This photo from the climb up Moraine K suggests a bench across at Lake Vesta would be workable?
But I believe the normal approach is from the south end of Promontory Lake?

I'm still fantasising about doing the ridge from Scorpio. Possible, just not very easy.

Mt Dawson? You're standing on dolerite. I see a logging coupe on the next ridge. The bare range in the middle distance doesn't look like dolerite. There aren't that many places like that. The notch on the LH horizon is quite distinctive but I can't place it.

I think I've been there and even have a photo of it, but this is the only place I've been where I've noticed it from a distance.

That notch! I was there earlier in the year. It's visible from Mt lord but my shot isn't the same. I didn't take a pic in that direction from Lanes Peak but that should shift the background in the right direction. That's what I'm guessing. It can't be from the top though because there's no vegetation.

Stepped Hills. I did a circuit of the Denison Abels; Rhona, Reeds, side trip to Bonds, back over Great Dome, followed the ridges south to a T, sidetrip to Stepped, out over Wright. This is near the edge of the scarp a bit north of the Stepped summit. Was looking for water and noticed this notch from further east on the way up, so detoured past it when heading back to the pack.

The rock formations around the notch are fascinating too.

Sorry, Last. No idea where to start. Looks like a nice lump at the back. Is that Pelion West?? I really must study Tasmanian geology one day.

I suspect it might be from Lot - looking over the Sarah Jane plateau from which Angel Falls should be plummeting.
[The cloud shrouded lump at the back was the big clue for me]
