Slightly above Hanging Lake
Sun 28 Jun, 2020 9:48 pm
On the Eastern Arthurs, near Goon Moor
Edit actually probably closer to where the old TUMC sign was.

The peak just topping out in the jumble on the left looks like Federation and the ridge profile down from there matches the view from Hanging Lake.

Totally right eggs. Sunrise from very close to Hanging Lake.

That's West Portal on the right, isn't it? Crags of Andromeda leading to the left. Logic suggests Western Arthurs, west of Promontory. Foreground rock looks like Columba. That
would be a lot of zoom.

Foreground rocks are not in the Western Arthurs - but West Portal is right, Crags of Andromeda not so.

Is this from Federation?
Tue 30 Jun, 2020 1:24 am
A bit closer, but not on Federation
Tue 30 Jun, 2020 1:17 pm
Mt Hopetoun?
Tue 30 Jun, 2020 5:57 pm
Going the wrong way..
Tue 30 Jun, 2020 6:23 pm
PB?
Tue 30 Jun, 2020 7:21 pm
hmm. Federation was a very close guess.
The craggy area close on the RHS was where we had to pass to get to this spot.
Tue 30 Jun, 2020 7:53 pm
Four Peaks?
Tue 30 Jun, 2020 8:30 pm
The craggy section in view is the Four Peaks.. I was on..?

Geeves Bluff

Not High Moor
Wed 01 Jul, 2020 11:17 am
Ah must be near Scorpio then
Wed 01 Jul, 2020 11:59 am
It is near Scorpio but it is closer to another named feature. (I didn't take my camera up Scorpio)
Wed 01 Jul, 2020 12:04 pm
Someone else can name the tarn and go next
Wed 01 Jul, 2020 7:06 pm
Is it from Lake Sirona?

Yes Lake Sirona is the closest feature. You can just see the little outlet tarn. Lake Sirona is just out of view beyond the edge of the photo to the left.

Where was I on this wet and miserable day?

Are you looking across Twisted Lakes to Hansons Peak?

No, it's a fair way south of there.
There is a very recognisable Abel shrouded in the mist across the lake.

Australia Tarn? A lot like the weather the first time I was there.
Thu 02 Jul, 2020 8:30 am
Rim Lake?
PS - I think this is looking NWish along the northern shore - so part of the Traveller Range behind rather than Ida.
