No, but one can climb an Abel via this route, and St Vals is in clear sight from up top. .

There we have it. And if anyone was wondering whether it was worth the effort: NO! Might have been if Hughie hadn't starting sending those nasty squalls over just before I hit the top of the ridge, but probably not. Scrubbiest bit of the Walls/Plateau I've visited.

Was it the name that tempted you? Actually the view looks pretty good.

The name, the fact it had a name, the position and simply that I was in the mood to explore that plateau as thoroughly as possible. That view isn't from the point itself, but from a lesser interim rockpile part of the way out. I have no idea what the view is like out where I ended up because you couldn't see much of anything at that stage. But it would take one hell of a lot to make up for the difficulty of getting out there. It doesn't look that bad from a distance, but how it looks from a distance is, well, deceptive.
