We have just flown out the Sputniks, and happy to report no foxes in there...(at least we know where they arent !)

Only one shopping bag of rubbish out of 5 sputniks this time. Makes the job much easier.

Cheers

Don't you have to check the contents to see if they've left any scats in there?

I suggested to Tassy Parks that they have a DNA test done on the boot to identify the owner ...

After waiting for several months now, the result is back. The owner of the boot has finally been identified. The boot belongs to every member on the Tassy side of the Bushwalking Forum who has walked in the Western Arthurs and Mt Eliza area.

Congratulations everyone, your boot has been found, please come and collect your boot.

Warren.

Tell the best story - How DID that boot get there?

WarrenH wrote: thing is very puzzling. How did Whatever they're called Parks Service, know that the contents of the half filled jar was actually peanut butter?

Having knowledge of where it's been, I don't want to know the answer.
But, the shape of the Kraft peanut butter jar is fairly unique, and they have to remove solid solids ( jars & boots & the like) by hand.

Now, Warren, call me cynical but depending on where Parks use to get this DNA test done, you might be surprised to learn that the said owner of boot in question is a Mr. Fox - a member of the notorious gang of Bushfoxes ever to cross the land, putting fear in many a stagecoach passenger by the mere thought or "alleged" sighting of their presence. Rumour has it that even the discovery of a toilet stop from this said Mr Fox is enough to bring a grown Labrador to its knees...
