December Competition: Logo/URL Publicity

Prize: Australian made light weight Exploring Tarp in Sil-Nylon from Terra Rosa Gear

How to Enter:
Publish or display a recognisable version of the bushwalk.com logo or URL in a way that is highly visible to either bushwalkers or by the general public, and which complies with the caveats below, then submit evidence (description and photo) of the publicity using the competition entry form at: http://bushwalk.com/comp/logopublicity/

The publicity must occur during December 2010, and the competition entry form must also be submitted during December 2010.

Caveats:
  • The publicity MUST NOT cause visual polution to a wilderness area
  • The publicity MUST NOT break any laws (eg, graffiti, litter)
  • The publicity MUST NOT be done in a way that is offensive to bushwalkers or to the general public

Breaching these caveats will render the entry ineligible for the competition.

The winner will be decided by a public poll of either all entries, or a short listed set of entries chosen by the moderation team.

About the prize:

Don't know whether I'm allowed to enter, but what the heck, worst I can do is get disqualified...
Here is a photo that I have on my Redbubble site -

You might recognize it in my Avatar, and it was the winning photo from the 2007 Photo of the Year comp.

Here it is on the site with the logo embedded, with a link back to this site...

At least this serves as one example of what the competition could be looking for.... So go get creative!

heheh... no you're not allowed to enter, but it is a very good example.

Other examples could be to have a big banner in your car window (so long as that doesn't break any laws), or to write it in a hut log book (don't waste too much paper there though).

Don't forget that entries must use the competition entry form, rather than be posted to this topic.

The prize is sitting on my desk, and although I haven't fully unpacked it, it does look like a good piece of work from what I can see peeking into the end of the stuff sack. :-)

(Teaser: The prize for the January competition arrived yesterday and is also sitting on my desk now.)

The winner of this competition will be decided by a poll which has just been posted to a separate topic. Please go there and vote for the entry you think should win. The poll closes on the 11th of January, and the winner will be sent the fabulous Terra Rosa Exploring Tarp!

Apologies for the late announcement of this competition. After checking with the winner of the poll for this competition, he has disqualified himself, so the actual winner of the Terra Rosa Tarp goes to: "berniegc" for creating a bushwalk.com facebook page.

This was a terrific idea, and could end up being very good for the site. I'm not really much of a facebook user, but I can still recognise the value of doing this. I may even call for volunteers to maintain the facebook page eventually.

Congratulations berniegc, I'll be sending your prize in the mail shortly.

And thanks again to Tera Rosa Gear for the Exploring Tarp they provided for the prize.
