The clues tell me you are at the Lost World lookout overlooking Glenbrook Creek. The date 25/7/53 is on the memorial cross to Rev. Dr. G E Raymer at the lookout (see attached plaque on the opposite side of the valley).

Correct Tyreless. I had forgotten about the plaque at Martins Lookout opposite, where we started our walk, heading out to St Helena Crater and back on this occasion.

Thanks jonnosan. We're spending the Xmas/New Year break in Canberra, hopefully I'll explore a bit more of Namadgi but might add this as well.

Let's stay in the ACT, what track or feature am I on:

Didn't realise the ACT had so many waterfalls, I'll have to investigate some.

I'll keep the ACT theme going:

Most except Gibraltar require a fair bit of off-track to get to.

Are you looking up at Mt Tennant?

Yep, from across the road outside the visitor centre.
I'll be down there next week but I don't think my dodgy knee is up to climbing that big lump.

It looks worth going up there but I still don't think my knee would handle it well.

I'll have to break the cycle, running short on ACT photos until I get back there.
What peak is this? Bonus point for my location (another peak), NSW:

I'm in a large NP of around 2,000 sq/km. Despite staring out into the wilderness I'm about 9 km from a well known and visited small tourist town with a famous bridge.
The peak I'm looking at is about 2 km from the one I'm standing on. My walk up here started on a steep trail, branched off on a narrow footpad, then a steep scramble to the plateau.
Off track across the top to the summit trig and a bit further to the western escarpment for this view.

Those are good clues! I'm not posting a guess because I don't have time to play just now, but I'll just say that you're standing in a place named after the fact that you had to bring your own toilet.

A number of "oo"s going on between these two peaks.

well I spent a bit of time on Google and a toppo, am pretty sure the ~2000km/sq NP is Morton, which makes the town with the bridges Kangaroo Valley, which makes the peak Ribuck made the pun about Carrialoo, which makes the peak in the picture Mt Moollattoo.

phew!

Well done jonnosan, correct on all counts. On Mt Carrialoo looking across to Mt Moollattoo. A really nice walk via McPhail's trail.
Or it used to be, I haven't walked down that way for some years and the 2019/20 fires may have impacted the area.
But there are some good options around there.
