I've camped there twice, both times with lovely clouds like yours. Clouds no doubt being a bit of a haphazard way of reminding oneself, but I got a feeling about the location that I might not have had without them.

What mountain in SA am I climbing, heading roughly NNE here?

Gee, whiz. You are close. I possibly should have written 'north-north-east'. Didn't want to get out my maps as it's too depressing to see them when I can't go anywhere.

Both you and I are saying this is Mt Painter, in the Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary. My notes say that an identification panel at Mt Warren Hastings shows that Painter is just 13km from there, so north-north-west was not far out.

I found a photo of this peak under the heading Mt Gee - but I suspect it was a view from Mt Gee.

Staying in SA - from last weekend.

Looks like one of the craters in SA's Limestone Coast. I'll try Cape Schank.

At the ocean in Victoria there is a Cape Schank, so this would be Mount Schank.

Yes - definitely a mountain rather than a cape.
Mount Schank it is, with Mt Gambier in view behind.

You could try editing your post to add a closing bracket at the end and see if that fixes it? Eg

Mt Beerwah, looking out towards Tibro and the coast? I’m guessing this would be an exploratory route on the southern side.

Thanks, I have never been on that side of Beerwah before so the angle threw me off initially.

Keeping with the same theme. Where was this photo taken from?

The shot was taken from Mt Beerburrum (although on the Yul-yan-man Track, not the summit). You can see Mt Ngungun behind (left) of Tibro in the shot.

All yours johnw.

Thanks, I thought you were somewhere lower. Noting eggs' guess, I checked my own photos from Mt Ngungun and got almost a mirror reversal of the Mt Beerburrum view.

That's because it is the summit of Mt Ngungun. Probably a bit cheeky in the context of the last few posts but I couldn't resist.

Let's take a trip to the NT, looking for the name of the walk that my papa & I are on
