Tyreless is correct. It's a view from Chimney Pots. The range extending to the plain in the south is the southern section of the Victoria Range. My maps have no named features in that section. Rock climbers might have some names I'm unaware of.

Thanks, but I don't have anything other than my usual NSW photos and I also appreciate a bit of variety in the game. I wouldn't have got it without johnw's guess so he should go next.

Tyreless is clearly the winner with the answer given but can I point out that the title of this competition is Where-is-it (Aussie). It is not Where am I. According to Peregrinator's comment the correct answer would be an unnamed place on the southern end of the Victoria Range. Just saying.

Greg, your point has some validity. I don't accept it fully though, because there is a named thing in view. I.e. the Victoria Range.

I suspected that there might be as many photographs of that view in existence as there are photographs of the mass of the Chimney Pots. Perhaps even more, because it's difficult to get a wide shot of that rock mass. And even then, it's not readily distinguishable from any other Grampians rock formation.

I reckon it's just a game, a thing to keep us amused and diverted. And seeing I didn't really give a very good answer I'm happy for anyone to go next. GregG, do you have anything? If no-one jumps in by tomorrow morning I'll post a new photo.

PS. This is more of a threat than a promise.

No, my answer was way off to the left of picture, like you said John was next closest after you.

I'm not sure I deserve it, but in the spirit of variety, what did I climb in QLD?

Looks like it could be somewhere on the coast so my opening bid is for Mount Coolum.

I have climbed Mt Coolum Greg, when friends of ours lived nearby.
Nice short walk and it does look similar from this angle, but definitely not Mt Coolum.
I'm a long way north from there and this one is much higher. Probably 8 to 10 km from the coast.

Thanks, I must admit I didn't know that one. The clue clinched it.

NSW, but should be easy:

Correct. I'm on the saddle about to ascend the less than impressive bulk of Carruthers from this angle.
Much more spectacular on the other side.

Could be Mount Owen in the centre, in which case the hill to the right could be The Castle. Looks different post fires.

Right general area, but no. Both Owen and the Castle are part of the complex in view, but neither can be seen. It's not the Castle in the right foreground.

Based on that, hint and assuming the 'hill' bit is also a clue, is it Hoddle's Castle in the foreground? Which would put you somewhere around Styles looking across Hollands Gorge to the Shrouded Gods/Monolith Valley complex?
