My initial thought was the breakaways, which the clue reinforces, although I've never been anywhere close to there.

Thanks. I always feel conflicted about responding to ones that I've never actually been to, not sure why. ACT for something different...

Sorry, but I didn't have a camera in '61. Not many four year olds did.

Haha yes, I think pretty much all of the photo, including where I'm standing, are in the ACT, but NSW is only a few metres away. Over to you.

I can see it is Mt Buller (great shot), but I need to get home to my maps to figure out where from.

Reminds me of the angle from the track up The Bluff, but it's been so long since I looked at those images ...

"Somewhere inside Wilpena Pound" is the correct answer. The location from where the shot was taken was not in question. It is as eggs writes, "at the far end from Edeowie", so what is fairly obvious despite the foreground wattle, is the pound's north-western escarpment. I was at the lookout into the pound's interior, about half an hour from the Rawnsley Bluff lookout.

Problem is that these days there aren't that many regular players. While attracting more players is a good thing, I'm not sure how best to do it.
I cringe now whenever someone throws it to new players as it usually kills the game.

OK, to get things moving again what spot did I visit a few weeks ago in NSW?
And does anyone know the purpose/history of the object on the right?

I propose a new rule for the game. If you don't have a picture at hand then you don't answer the question. Thoughts?

Zapruda wrote:I propose a new rule for the game. If you don't have a picture at hand then you don't answer the question. Thoughts?

Most of the original rules were reasonably well thought out. But they are not well known to other than longstanding players, so are rarely brought into play.
Hence there can sometimes be long delays. Or newer players try to make up their own rules on the fly, causing confusion.
There's an existing rule allowing the winner 24 hours to post a new image. I think that is reasonable.
I've noticed many people take advantage of that and sometimes comment that they need time to find a suitable image.
Similarly most of my photos are on my desktop at home. I have a very limited amount on my phone (of lesser quality) and also very limited mobile access, so it would reduce my participation.
Bottom line, I think it may further slow down an already very slow game. I do think it would be good to have a faster moving game through a greater number of players.
That was the case when the photo games were originally set up, but even the Tassie version has slowed considerably. Just my 2 cents.
