Planning to do the Light to Light in a couple of weeks. So with that in mind, is it the P40 Kittyhawk aircraft on the slopes of Mount Imlay?

A really long way from there, Guouogang was much closer. That said I've been up Mt Imlay and didn't realise a wreck was there.

That's a red ledge, so I'm guessing Redledge Pass.

Can't place it but looks familiar. Background looks like Grose/Govetts gorge system but I can't tell which aspect.
If I have to guess it could be somewhere on either Perrys or Pierces Pass.

I remember a ledge that colour and slope on a pass off Bald Hill Ridge (blackheath) - I was looking for 'Browns Pass' - not 100% sure if I was on it though or something else

No one has it so far.

As far as I'm aware it's not a pass.

There is a pad that extends from a very well known area to this location.

Could be the eastern end of Mt Solitary looking towards Kedumba Walls.

It is the eastern part of the mountain (and yes that's kedumba walls in the background) but eastern part is a fairly big area. Can Greg or someone narrow it down?

Oops had direction brain fart. I will confirm it's on my solitary and looking at kedumba walls but not taken from the eastern part.

Still after the location. I'm sure most people have wandered done this deviation from the main track at one time or another but may not have walked to it's conclusion.

I think it could be on the north western end of Solitary, on the Korowall Knife Edge.
As you ascend there is a point where the track turns left up through some rocks.
But if you miss it you end up on a false lead running more or less parallel with Cedar Creek.
I think you could be on that, looking back towards Katoomba.

I'm not on korrowall knife edge or on korrowall ridge.

I'm actually quite close to an area that has experienced a bit of controversy over the years.

Perhaps you're near the spot where Chinamans Gully spills out into the valley below. Chinamans Gully is controversial amongst wokepersons for its name, and also because of the recent prohibition of camping in Chinamans Cave.

But wherever it is, I've been there. I have a muscle memory of stepping around that boulder in the middle.

ribuck has it.

If you follow the track down Chinamans Gully to the creek junction, then cross the creek there is a foot pad leading to a lookout, the pad continues to the right (east) leading to the cliffs.

It's worth an explore if you have time.

I'm not sure how far along below the cliffs its possible to traverse, it goes a little way and then starts sloping in slippery dirt with a big drop so I decided not to proceed further.. but there might have been more overhangs etc to discover if I'd kept going.

I'm surprised more people haven't been there but maybe it's more accessible/visible now after the fires. Pleased to say chinaman's is tidier than I remember, probably due to the solitary ban post fires.

Over to you ribuck.

Thanks wildwanderer.

This one is a named rock feature in NSW. Well, it's named on OpenStreetMap anyway.

When it whites out those formations look really eerie. You're just below Rams Head North, I have almost the same photo.
The Rams Heads are a wonderful place for a wander.

Mmm, as it's "where is it" I can't really pay that answer. But, you couldn't be any closer.
Just looking for the name of the background feature/land form. There is a fair bit of zoom.
