Almost on a line between DCB and WildWanderer's guess, although closer to the latter

That's the one. Mailbox is broader and less vegetated from memory.

Pretty Plain Hut, Dargals or Strumbo Range. My map has both very close. This is the Pretty Plain Hut rebuilt at much effort and cost after the fires, little used in part due the track over Strumbo being overgrown.

Yes, that's the one. Rebuilt in 2010. Barn-like with no ceiling but solid and welcome protection.

I thought the distant range was Dargals but probably not as Dargals curves away and what's visible here may simply be an un-named ridge with Dargals Trail heading up to Tooma and Wheeler.

Your go.

Thanks. In the 1980s I did a few winter trips from Bradneys Gap, Pretty Plain Hut, Strumbo and Gray Mare. No more. One trip we skied across to Cesjacks and had arvo tea at Nordheim, alas gone. We were trapped at Cesjacks for three days by about two metres of snow. This pic is in Victoria.

GBW, correct. This is at the junction of The Razorback, summit and Federation Hut tracks. The Hotham road is visible in the distance. It was a warm day. There's a live branch cut, and the fool that did this put his name in the log book, stating something like he had to go to the junction to get wood. I cannot recall the details. His headmaster was contacted.

That's a nice shot. I skied past there in a whiteout, twice, keeping well back from the edge. It was still scary. Victoria. I hope that the file name is not too confusing.

Foreground could be the upper howqua, upstream of the car camping area, but I don't think the background matches
