Bunba Yaka and Geeraganggala creeks

Postby rcaffin » Fri 31 Jul, 2020 12:14 pm

Bunba Yaka Creek from Cedar Ck (off NarrowNeck) was fun, although you can't get out of the headwaters very easily. Big cliffs.
But what about Geeraganggala Creek next to it? Does anyone know anything about it?
It looks very steep up to the intermediate cliff line, but maybe not much worse than Bunba Yaka.

Cheers

Hey Rog,
I've come up Bunba Yaka (Bunba Yucky) from Cedar before coming up true left spurs to get on top. But Geeranganggala might have to be the next adventure. Let me know how you go.
Cheers
Caro

Well, it won't be this winter . . . :(
Looking at the topo, it does not seem as though the bottom part is much steeper. But who knows?

From my notes, as we headed up Bunba Yaka in the morning:
Morning tea was had on easy ground here, and we found ourselves sitting in a patch of Corybas pruinosus Toothed Helmet Orchids, in full flower.

The steep lower section of the creek was steep and rocky and had some vines. Eventually we reached the main fork between the main creek and the side gullies up to the left where there is a waterfall. Later on we went up one of those side gullies.

Further up we had to do a little zigzagging to bypass some cliffs, but this was above the steep 'lower section'.
