Rest area list - Great North Walk

Postby mikeyjb » Sat 27 Feb, 2021 10:51 am

Hi,

I'm planning on doing a multi night walk between Yarramalong and Newcastle. I've read a few posts here mainly around water availability and they all mention rest areas that I can't seem to find. Is there a list or map somewhere that has them all marked?

This is one of the threads I read on the subject;

viewtopic.php?f=36&t=27612&p=360470&hilit=great+north+walk+water#p360470

Thank you.

Have a look on open street map. It usually has water spots marked.

Actually scratch that it seems it doesn't for GNW. Or altleast for the version I have.

The section guides on https://www.wildwalks.com/lists/great-north-walk/ usually mention the rest areas.

Hi,

Thank you. I think I've filled in this missing bits. I hope the tanks are still in place between Barraba Campsite and Hunter Lookout!

Thanks!
