Long Plain

Postby jjoske » Wed 23 Feb, 2022 7:26 am

I'm looking at doing a over night walk around the Long Plain in early March, can anyone advise me off what the water situation is like between Old Currango Hut Cooinbal hut, and where it is possible to find good reliable water sources?

The trail from Old Currango Hut towards Mosquito Creek Trail crosses a couple of creeks the closest about 500m north of the hut. Given the amount of horses in the area I'd treat the water.

There is water everywhere at all times of the year in that part of the park. In fact, you can’t avoid it. Filter whatever you find. The horses have silted up most creeks.
