Kanangra Boyd

Postby sandym » Sat 20 Aug, 2022 7:08 pm

Will be passing by in late September and looking for some recommendations on good walks - either long day or overnight to three days.

Previously walked out to Cloudmaker and done Thurat Rift and Kanangra canyons.

Kanangra Walls to orange bluff on the Kowmung is one of the best overnight options there imo.

Pretty much any of the ridges down to the kowmung, down/upstream a bit then back up another ridge? Eg. over cambage spire to bulga denis canyon and out via brumby ridge (camping at the abovementioned orange bluff) is a classic, or out via roots ridge if you have more time. Or downstream to gingra reach via gingra ridge (bit of a trudge) and up compagnoni pass to 100 man cave (which is awesome) and out via cloudmaker is another good option. Options upstream as well... morong deep/uni rover? Not sure what the regrowth is like though.... report back if you go :)
