Hey
thinking of doing the K2K in October. Has anyone done it recently ? I am wondering about the regrowth and how much of a slog it is.
Thanks
Guy

Hi Guy,
I did it with a partner about 6 weeks ago, from Kanangra to Katoomba. There is still thick wattle on Strongleg ridge, which is quite unpleasant but not impassable. You really must have GPS to navigate to Mt Morilla I think. Plenty of perfect water at Dex creek and in Kanangra Creek. We had trouble crossing Cox's River because it was very wide, deep and swift. It seemed very dangerous and we swam for our lives with our packs on our backs! I was at Cox's a couple of weeks ago though and it was much lower and slower. There is more thick wattle on Yellow Dog ridge, but there is a noticible track to follow through it. More like a tunnel really. Have fun!
Nick

Thanks Nick … will try for it in a couple of weeks … hopefully the rain doesn’t come back in force or we might need floaties for the Cox’s

The Coxs River is likely to rise very quickly over the next 3 days - I'd be reconsidering if I were you. (But based on the weather forecast for the next few days, I'd probably be sitting at home! 50-100mm of rain for the Central Tablelands)
