Old Ford Reserve & Dunphy's Camping (Megalong)

Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows is there any issues/rules with having campfires at either of these locations?
(I cant see any pits in pics ive found)
Also has anyone camped recently and know the firewood/water situation?

I can't speak for camping at Dunphy's, but I have camped at Old Ford Reserve, and people had fires there. I don't know what the rules are, I used my fuel stove because I was feeling too tired to do anything else. But the campground is just near the road, very open (i.e. no privacy) and fills up with campervans etc. Depending on what you are planning, you might be better served camping a few KMs further north on Megalong Valley Road called "Blackheath Glen". It is also popular but there are lots of trees so you get a much more private campsite. We didn't have any issues finding firewood when we camped there 4 months ago.

Dunphy's is a strictly "Fuel Stove Only" campsite. So no wood fires allowed.

There was plenty of water in the tank last time I was there about 2 months ago. And it seems to have rained even more since then.

Old Ford Reserve you would have to get water and treat out of the creek. In the big wet season this water was very brown (its usually clear) and seem to have a toxic foam on the top, again about a month or two ago, so hopefully its looking more normal by now.

Megalong Ford campsite has been denuded by indescriminate vehicular access over the years. There is a lot of bare sloping ground. Blackheath Glen is better organised and sheltered and quite a good campsite once you've kicked aside the dog poo.
