In case nobody replies, the following may assist. It's the end of a somewhat dry summer. Hellfire Creek tends to be running at the end of winter, with the flow dropping as summer progresses. I have not been there for a while but I suspect that the flow will be low. Of course it's possible to go down further and find water. Hellfire Creek is very steep. Maybe carry water in or camp elsewhere.

I am planning to head out there over Easter so tell us how you get on. There is said to be water near King Billy 1 where the Timbertop students have put in a plastic pipe to form a spout at the source of a stream that forms a tributary of the MacAlister river. I am going to scout that out too. In any event carry extra water along the ridge lines because February has been very dry.

Hi - how did you get on at Hellfire? Was there water at Mac Springs? Planning on a walk this weekend and want to get water status. Cheers
