Wilson’s Promontory Multi Day Hike

Hi, my husband and I and adult kids are looking at doing Wilsons Promontory multi day hike in September. We were thinking maybe 4 nights - staying either one or two nights at the lighthouse. Would this be too long? We have done many multi day hikes so fitness etc is not an issue. Looking for a suggested itinerary.

Telegraph Saddle -> Sealers (o/n) -> Little Waterloo (o/n) -> Lighthouse (o/n) -> Oberon Bay (o/n) -> Tidal River is not a bad circuit for 4 nights. Off the top of my head it's about 10km, 12km, 10km, 16km and 8km (very approx). If you only have 1 car someone will need to hitch or walk back to Telegraph Saddle from Tidal River. You can also get back to the car from Oberon Bay by returning to the Telegraph Track and walking back to Telegraph Saddle.

Camm's loop above is probably your best bet. You could add in the South Point as a side trip between the lighthouse and Oberon Bay for an extra ~6km. Little Waterloo has had some issues with flooding recently which limits the sites available to book. Check the other direction as well if bookings don't line up the way you want.

If you start or end on a weekend there's a shuttle that runs between Tidal River and Telegraph Saddle to get back to the car.

Unfortunately the shuttle bus only runs weekends Nov-Apr, and daily during summer and Easter holidays.

If the car becomes a sticking point a nice variation on the above per @Indented is Telegraph Saddle -> Sealers (o/n) -> Little Waterloo (o/n) -> Lighthouse (o/n) -> South Point -> Roaring Meg (o/n) -> Telegraph Saddle. Lighthouse to Roaring Meg via South Point is about 11km. Roaring Meg to the car is about 12km. As a bonus you can drop your tent at Roaring Meg before heading to South Point as it's on the way.

Your other option would be Telegraph Saddle -> Sealers (o/n) -> Little Waterloo (o/n) -> Lighthouse (o/n) -> South Point -> Halfway Hut (o/n) -> Telegraph Saddle. Lighthouse to Halfway Hut via South Point would be about 16km. Halfway Hut to the car would be about 7km. Some people will tell you that the Halfway Hut campsite has no redeeming features whatsoever. It's not the best campsite at the Prom, but it has its own charm and you meet some characters.
