Snow Victorian Alps

Postby Hiking Exped » Sun 08 May, 2022 11:22 am

Is anyone else enjoying their Sunday morning comparing maps, weather forecasts and snow cams

Looks an awesome few days ahead to get up on the snow line and test a new bed out :D

I never need much of an excuse.

Now where to go and will the wife give me a two or three night free pass :)

That was Mt. Wills. Pretty much all gone now as well. Warm and sunny but the rain on the way from tomorrow will clean up anything left. Nothing on the horizon for the current forecastable period. I have too much needing to be done before the snow arrives but my gut feeling is another dump in two weeks. Not based on any predictions or models. Just that I have something important to do that will not happen if it snows.

May snow is about ground cooling and not much of it lasts through to the end of the season.

Typical - last week when I wanted snow I had to search for it. This week when I was planning a trip up over Mt Magdala to Mt Spec it looks like it could be a nuisance. A weekend of watching snow cams, weather reports and I guess figuring out a plan B :D

Looks like your forecasting feeling was pretty good :D
