Just wondering if anyone is heading down to Cockle creek or Lune river on the 12th or 13th of march.
Heading down to do the southern circuit and hoping someone was heading that way?
Thanks heaps

Updated.

Is anyone going anywhere from Hobart on Monday the 13th March?
Happy to go to Lk St Clair, arm river, walls, cockle creek, cradle, Mt field. Basically anywhere I can do some overnight walking.
Happy to pay for fuel and food etc.

Oh, OK, you've talked me into it. Not that the weather looks particularly enticing.

Lol, you’re up North though aren’t you?

Yeah, not gonna lie the 115kph winds predicted on Wednesday don’t sound too fun around the southern ranges

No, I'm a southerner. I'm just trying to find somewhere to go where those conditions won't be an issue.

Maybe do the circuit clockwise? The SCT to New River Lagoon will be a little less horrible and once the wind drops you can go up.

That sounds pretty alright actually. Although wed, thurs and Fri mornings all are very windy. Right when I would be getting up onto PB etc. At least it would be a shorter retreat coming back down off PB if it’s too wild.

Or do I just send it and try get over PB before the winds get too bad. My timeframe puts me on PB Wednesday night though. Is low camp fairly sheltered?

Depends on the direction of the wind. It's certainly more sheltered than high camp, but it's not really an enormously pleasant place.

Do you want to go down tomorrow? I can manage that. Easier to get an early start too, without weekday traffic.

I’d like that very much thanks. My flight doesn’t get in until 10.15 or something. I’ll send you a pm.
