WA Sth West overnight walk recommendations

Postby LTM » Thu 15 Apr, 2021 9:50 am

Hi All,
I have walked the Bibbulmun from a few days north of Pemberton to Denmark. Experienced multi day walker and navigator.
I am looking for recommendations for 2-3 day loop walks in the tall forest regions. So the area from around Pemberton to Denmark. Happy to do parts of the Bibbulmun again as part of a loop.
In addition, this is a car camping trip so any full day walk recommendations in the area appreciated.
Any campsites, books or websites you would recommend?
Coming from SA so would appreciate local knowledge.
thanks in advance.

Around Denmark you may be able to make a loop using the Denmark Railway Heritage Trail and the Bibbulmun Track.

Near Collie, there's a new trail called the Wiilman Bilya. It too connects to the Bibbulmun in the Wellington Dam area.

If you're car camping, make sure you can get a site by booking. It's been very busy here most weekends, even off-peak.
State government sites can be found on https://parks.dpaw.wa.gov.au/park-stay, otherwise HipCamp is half decent.
