Earlier this year we managed to pick an absolutely cracking day to drive out to the Tasman Peninsula and complete the Cape Hauy bushwalk.
Such spectacular scenery, particularly at the edge of the escarpment looking out towards the cape, but also at the top of the cliffs. I can't believe it's taken us ten years to finally do this walk!!

superlative views along the coast, massive amount of work went into making that track, amazing quality steps up and down the hillside they made out of the rocks...

Wildflowers are utterly stunning presently. Walked Capes Hauy and Pillar just last week, never seen such a display in Tassie. Oh and the views are pretty nice too...

Seeing those flowers in bloom would be an interesting point of difference!
I know what you mean Wayno, we were calling it the Cape Hauy Highway!!
It's interesting to note that while that is a brilliant standard for a bushwalking track, during our time in Japan and South Korea we found that they build many of their tracks to a similar standard. Their stonework in particular is amazing, piecing together and fitting rocks together like a jigsaw to give the perfect incline. Really well thought out and a pleasure to walk.
Andrew.

japan didnt use wheeled transport much until the european influence took over, part of the reason so much effort went into their walking trails, they were as valuable as roads
