A report and some photos can be found at this weblink. Some good work clearing the tracks in the East Tyers River area including a segment of the AAWT was completed along with bridge building and the like. It was all carried out by volunteers.

That section was fairly clear 6 months ago. Any chance of tackling the Upper Yarra Track from AAWT to Newlands?

The next working bee will be at Mt Wills along the AAWT on the March Long weekend , as long as the roads and parks up there are open . Fire activity has closed access to that area at present. New Volunteers are welcome to take part. BTAC do not decide where to work. DEWLP and PV give the directions in these matters.

Do you make recommendations to PV?

PCV may not personally but Bushwalking Vic does. This is an extract from the BTAC page

BTAC actively engages with land managers to enable Bushwalking Victoria to influence planning and the potential impact on bushwalkers at an early stage in the planning process.

Funding is allocated to the local PV controlling parts of the AAWT and is specific for that track. PV and NPWS rangers meet regularly to discuss the AAWT and decide on areas which could benefit from funding which can provide signage and track work. I have actually had the local ranger ring me to ask where I thought money could be spent on the track in our area. There is consultation and they are keen for some input.

BTAC will be doing some track clearing in the Baw Baw area in April.

It looks like April 2021 will be the Baw Baw N.P. track clearing mission from St.Phillack's Saddle to Stronarch's camp.
