Great North Walk Tunks Ridge Alternative

Greetings

We are planning a four day hike from Sydney to Cowan along the Great North Walk. One of the camping areas, which would be day three, is Tunks Ridge, however, it is closed. Does anyone know of an alternative where we could stay on third night?

If you want to walk further there is camping at Crosslands. Take some bug spray. Otherwise if you follow the ridge along after the closed campsite, there are plenty of camping spots near the track and before you drop down into Galston Gorge. You'll need to carry in water though.
