Larapinta Trail notes

A place to put current notes on the Larapinta Trail?

Feb 2022 CLOSED - due to grass overgrowth leading to the possibility of lost walkers.

Reopen should be before April 2022.

Who in their right mind would be walking the Larapinta at this time of the year, anyway?

Hardly anyone walks end-to-end in the hot months, but people do day walks from the road-ends, or short overnighters.

And after a few people have done this, the path will be clearly tramped into the grass.

With all the recent rain they've had, I'm looking forward to this coming walking season. There will be an enormous number of finches and budgies around, and plenty of wildflowers, plus lots of standing water for the taking.
