I've had a look at the Alpacka web site and could be very interested in this. Anybody tried them?

Yes, I have a dory, which is the same boat as the Fjord Explorer but with a different rowing frame. I tend to just use a kayak paddle. Our main use is walking in to difficult access fishing locations, typically estuaries. Andrewallen, a poster on the alpacka site, uses them here and in NZ - he has a few.
A good mate and some of his mates have them also. There are probably around 20-30 in Australia.
They follow Bontrager's axiom very well ('light, strong, cheap: pick any two'). They are light and strong, amazingly so.
What would you like to know ?
I could arrange for you to see mine one day if you are really interested, although this week it is in Bega as the boys spent 4 days in Location X fishing over the Ozzie Day period.
