Probably not much hiking---taking my wife to Mt. William nat park and probably a few 4wd tracks in that area. She's not much of a walker but likes to get out into the bush.

I haven't gotten to Mt William yet.

We're supposed to be camping in Freycinet, but everyone except for me is sick :-(

Just going to be lazy, and do a car-camping trip to Marrawah on Saturday (or somewhere nearby, if it's too crowded).

I've been a bit crook too this week so, if i feel fine tomorrow morning I'll be off to do Cape Pillar via Mt Fortescue as a casual two-night trip. If I don't feel up to that a single overnighter at Hartz Mtns. Either way I plan to take bucket loads of photos and have an easy casual time of it :)

Three "Mums" & I are walking into New Pelion via Arm River. We have two "virgin-walker/campers" with us so it could get interesting!
(We have wine & chocolate!!!)

Heading in on Monday, walking to Mt Oakleigh Tuesday or even Mt Ossa again & then out on Wednesday. Weather looks okay. It is going to be crowded!

Trying out my newly purchased One Planet Cocoon 500 sleeping bag.

Just got back from leading a tour in at the Walls from the 5th till yesterday. Was a fantastic trip, i laugh at the fact that that was work!!
Summited Temple, Jerusalem, King Davids, Solomons and Rogoona. Beautiful weather.

Only downfall, I've been smacked with Giardia, probably not picked up at the walls though, and now i'm house bound for a while.

No, arrived at car park whilst the second search was happening. Helicopters flying over us for the first day quite regularly.

Met one of the team leaders from that school at the car park, I can't believe how that unfolded, i've only just read about it today.

Kid was lucky

YES! haha theres our car... undamaged on return thankfully.
We started walking at 10:15 on friday and figured out from the rego book that 12 people had left before us, with 7 in the car park preparing to leave. Hut was full at Vera both nights with lots of tents too but didn't actually feel that busy on the track.. or maybe i was just too distracted by the mud, views, pain etc to notice.

I returned from a couple of nights in Pine Valley (which was bursting at the seams) - campsites were pretty tricky to pick (we had 2 tents in a boggy spot in the "outer suburbs") - there were a few 1-person tents pitched in "I didn't think a tent would fit in there" places.
Nice weather on Saturday, but Sunday - Monday were a tad foggy and soggy :)

Well, I didn't know until the weekend had started, but the sad answer was... gardening, and lots of it.

That just means that I'm going to have to reward myself with a walk this week (don't have to go back to work until Monday), or this weekend.

Shadow Lake and surrounds, just for a night - and we had the place to ourselves! A few day walkers, but surprisingly quiet for the Easter weekend.

I showed my daughter two films on Lake Pedder, and now she is champing at the bit to go and see "Fake" Pedder. Neither Helen or I want to go there- it feels haunted/wrong, and I haven't even been there. But I might take her down there and to Mt Field.

I had a good weekend. With a mate, stayed at Dixon's Kingdom Hut on Friday night then pansied about and walked out Lake Myrtle track again. We planned to stay at Junction Lake, but could not be bothered and called it quits a day early, for some reason. I forget why now. :?
Then on Sunday Mother, Father and 6 of my siblings and I went out and headed for Cradle. But it was wet. So I instructed Father to head to Queenie. From there we went to East Pillinger. They had not heard of the place before and I had not done the walk. So we all did that. Which was nice and pretty and funny with my feral brothers!

Did the walk!!
The "secret track" information is available from me PM unless soab gives the OK to post on Forum as this is a well used rough scrubby not easy track which I think some wish to selfishly keep to them selves, this track does not save you much in effort 150m of the 200m climb at the start of the Arm River Track however IMHO it is so much nicer especially the magnificiant mini Pencil Pine Forest that you walk through and the Valley is just as you can see it on Google Earth it is one of those not so easy but nicer walks .
Thanks to my guide Nathan and Driver Paul good couple of days :)
P.S. it is scrubby and not easy, daylight only navigation.

Had Lake Daphne to myself. I did see two other people on the slopes of Wylds Craig who started heading out to Lake Daphne but they turned around.
