I'm hopeless at fabric ID. Do you know, Moondog? I've never seen any other clothing with a similar fabric/weave.[/quote]

If you could find lightweight Taslan it might work. Certainly Roger says he wears simple Taslan shirts on their own, and I do find my HD Taslan pull-ons comfortable

I personally find singlets and vests work wonderfully well in keeping the core warm and the limbs can have far less fabric/layers to keep them protected. It balances the excessive heat trapping from long sleeved garments. Physiologically, the head, limbs are key heat dissipators and by quickly adjusting clothing over them, one can regulate the overall body temperature and sweat far more quickly. In the meantime, core is well protected from hypothermia.

Otherwise based on stories from my cousin who has stay a few years in north-eastern China near the Siberian border where winters are regularly in the -40s. He said that as long as one moves, one will be fine in avoiding hypothermia. Eat, hydrate and move…
