Id like to hope we don't have similar issues in Australia. As a man with north west european ancestry my perspective is limited.

I do see many people from south east and north asian backgrounds regularly bushwalking in NSW and I've noted they are often more adventurous and more competent than many others.

I don’t know if we have similar issues here in Australia but have found there’s an ethnic imbalance in the bushwalking community here. However, maybe it’s just cultural preferences but who knows. I have to say though, I have not come across any indigenous walkers locally, apart from some rangers.
