1 week hike mid Sept

Fri 30 Jul, 2021 4:47 pm

Hi everyone I have itchy feet to do a longer hike again. I have one week off in mid Sept where do you think would be best. Thinking Larapinta which may be too hot or other extreme Overland in Tas.

Ideas? I am based in Adelaide but happy to travel

Part of the Heysen? Closer to home and if you can arrange transport you can pick one of the wilder sections and walk through until you run out of time.

An excellent suggestion.
Something home state based for you sounds like a super idea in these ever changing times.
Hope you have a great trip

Another vote for the Heysen (or part thereof)

I have yet to get around to walking any of it, but the northern sections, in particular, appeal to me.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I will get back on the Heysen and its probs more likely to happen given the current difficult context to travel in. Cheers!

The new "Southern Ocean" trail which takes in the first bit of the Heysen? Its been a bit revamped, some sections needed it! Lavender trail? https://lavenderfederationtrail.org.au/ I thought that the Kangaroo Island walk was open again; there are services which do dropoffs either beginning and end or even daily. Some of the https://yorkepeninsula.com.au/walk-the-yorke paths? SA section of the "Australian Camino?" http://www.aussiecamino.org/wordpress/ Yes, I go on,some of these are on my wishlist; I enjoyed KI but don't know how well its recovered from the fires as the walk was affected.
