First Aid Book

Postby robl » Fri 26 Nov, 2021 9:04 am

We are looking for first aid book to be given to leaders or members of our club.
We thought of an app or a kindle book but the old fashioned type was considered best.
Is the "Remote Area First Aid your Field Guide" St Johns the best?
What do others think?

The St Johns guides are excellent. I don't have the remote area one but if it is the same standard as the others it will certainly do the job. I'm not sure, but I think there may also be first aid cards designed for bushwalkers that are lighter and easier to carry than a book.

Hopefully the remote area one might have something about hypothermia in it. I'm not sure about the book, but the standard St Johns "First Aid" app doesn't seem to have anything on hypothermia at all. At least I couldn't find it when I wanted to confirm that I had been doing everything correctly for a young bloke earlier this year.

That is a strange omission in the app. Hypothermia management is certainly in the St Johns manual.
