There used to be an annual meet up in early March for the first 5 or 6 years of BWT/BWA. They varied a lot in the numbers of people who turned up (the smallest was two people) and in difficulty of location, but they were always good events.
I can't make it to NSW this year unfortunately, but it's a great idea and I hope it works out well.
My work usually stops after the first week of December to first week of February unless I find something else or finally start a paddle tour this summer...
G'day at this time I could still do a NSW meet up for an overnight walk. First week of December looking good. Any location ideas? In the past I have walked and recommended Ettrema, Budawang-ish, some Blue Mountains, Barrington tops sections. Higher elevation could be cooler and better for walking, Etty or Shoalhaven could be good for an afternoon dip.
Edit, Bungonia was another spot. Or further nor some less charted Werrikimbe/Oxley wild rivers.
Could possibly use this walk as an opportunity to open up one of the tracks that has become grown over post fires? Uni Rover for example, two birds one stone so to speak. Kowmung is always good for a summer swim.
Should we make a plan? How about the Kowmung starting from Kanangra... Drive around Janolan Caves and there is a good base camp/meeting point not far from the falls lookout from memory. It's steep country out there. Monday 11 December for five days? Bring your secateurs or a folding saw, I don't know what the vegetation is like.
