I think he may have gotten it (the software) from the states.

Send him a PM, he will tell you!!

Just dont put the batteries in the wrong way, as they dont seem to like that too much. :wink:

Pretty sure he did, I recall him talking aobut having to change it over to our datum and other things which was a bit of a nuisance.

I should have said Maps not mapping software. I know they are NMEA compatible, but I haven't heard of any Aussie topo maps supplied with them either here or in the US. I like the idea of the PN60w with Spot. Hope the maps are easy to come by.

I would certainly ask them to send you a screen grab of a particular area in Tasmania (from their "world Map series"). This might give you some idea of what the base information is like. I think that some folks who buy these also have access to GIS data and have the add ons to load that as well.

as Tastrax said, I'm lucky enough to have access to the GIS data for TAS which I was able to crunch into the unit
